The Botanical Garden of Trieste hosts an exhibition of different plant collections divided into various sections, for didactic and recreational use.
Besides scientific research and knowledge of the environment, the Botanical Garden of Trieste also preserves, cultivates and produces medical, textile, food, water and marsh plants, as well as succulent and cactuses, spontaneous flora from the Karst and surrounding areas.
Because of its environmental features, the Botanical Garden also offers an ideal habitat for many different animals that naturally inhabit parks and gardens, like birds, bats, hedgehogs and blind-worm.
Thanks to specific video cameras, you can follow the behaviour of the birds that inhabit the nests in the garden and all the activities of the animals that live in one of the pond dedicated to the acquatic plants.
