Stage suitable for trekking enthusiasts that combines mountain walks with an exceptional panoramic view of sites and front zones from the Alps to the Adriatic.
The route that characterizes this stage allows the hiker, through a fairly challenging path, to immerse themselves in the beauty of mountain landscapes without giving up contact with the historical heritage of these lands and visiting some villages. In this context, the Kolovrat Open-Air Museum is interesting as it is excellently preserved and maintained. This cross-border museum, which extends largely in Slovenian territory, shows the front line which, besides following the mountain ridge, opens into a breathtaking panorama allowing the hiker, on clear days, to embrace it with a gaze from Mount Canin/Kanin to Trieste/Trst. This certainly makes the place one of the most visited and appreciated of the Walk of Peace.
The Tolmin Museum tells the history of the Isonzo area through the centuries.
Interesting towards Dolje is the Kozlov rob ridge with the remains of a medieval castle where, during the Great War, there was an observation point for Austro-Hungarian artillery.
