From the dam, follow the road of Passo Pura, continue along a dirt road by the lake, cross the Lumiei gorge, ascend to Pamelouche, and finally reach Sauris di Sopra.
Crossing the dam, follow the road of Passo Pura up to the first hairpin bend. Here, near the Rio Storto, a dirt road begins running along the southern side of the lake. The dirt track, overlooked by the lush Boschi Flobia, Stua, and Bernone, leads to the westernmost bay of the lake, where an artificial tunnel that brings part of the Tagliamento's waters to the lake emerges. Continuing and always keeping to the right, you cross the Rio Tavanelli to reach the wide bed of the Lumiei, just upstream of which lies the homonymous gorge. Despite the mysterious beauty of the canyon, access is dangerous even when the stream's flow is minimal. Beyond the gorge, you ascend towards Pamelouche (which means in the gorge Louch = hole or cavity) and then along a forest road, reach the junction in località Mulini. Now turn sharply left to ascend to località Preitschpoudn, an area characterized by meadows and huts near the village of Sauris di Sopra, which you reach shortly after.
