A route for MTB and e-bikes immersed in a mountainous environment that from Dardago climbs the valley of the Artugna stream until reaching the locality of Piancavallo.
The route starts at Budoia, a place where numerous archaeological finds were discovered, testifying to the antiquity of the settlement and where the small church of San Tomè once stood, still able to fascinate those who visit it today. You pedal with a slight incline towards the hamlet of Dardago and then begin the climb along the Artugna that leads up to Sauc. The view over the underlying plain and the steep walls and gorges of the Artugna is nothing short of spectacular! From Sauc you continue and in a short time you reach Piancavallo, the final destination of the route, particularly appreciated by sports lovers and outdoor activities enthusiasts both in winter and summer. Here other routes begin that can be followed for the return: the paved road descending to Aviano (the famous climb featured in the Giro d’Italia) or the marked “MontaneVie” route that crosses the Cansiglio plateau among mountain huts and pastures until reaching Caneva and Sacile.
