The route crosses the hills between Tarcento and Nimis, an area known for the production of great wines including Ramandolo wine.
Food & wine
In this land of terraced hills with breathtaking views, tasting a native grape variety is almost a must: Verduzzo friulano, whose grapes lend themselves well to late harvesting. When vinified with the grapes dried on trellises, Ramandolo, an amber-colored raisin wine, very alcoholic and pleasantly sweet, is obtained!
RECOMMENDED DISH: "Uessuz di Nimis," crumbly cookies to pair with sweet Ramandolo.
Itinerary
The loop starts from Tarcento, crosses the Torre stream, passes through small villages among the hills and is characterized by small vineyards. Once you get near the church of Sedilis, you can admire the view of the Friulian plain below. With a short detour, in the village of Ramandolo, the panoramic view from the small church of S. Giovanni is worthwhile. One descends among the hillocks to Torlano, where the land is cultivated with vines.
Remember to check the opening hours of the wineries.
