Route with a fairly challenging elevation gain, but that allows you to find cool shelter on summer days, between the Natisone river and the shade of the woods.

Starting from the riverbed of the Natisone, you climb quite steeply towards the isolated village of Montefosca, a small village now inhabited by only a handful of inhabitants, where you can breathe the atmosphere of a bygone era. Traditions are still alive in Montefosca, and the characteristic carnival (Pust) with the masks called "blumari" is worth a visit: the young males of the village, dressed in white and wearing bells tied to their belts, run around the village covering the route as many times as there are blumari. Then you continue climbing towards the church of Sant'Andrea, from which the descent begins again, back to the Natisone at Stupizza.
