Cociancig
The origins of the company date back to 1950, when Costantino Cociancig decided to give real roots to his passion as a winemaker by planting the first vines in Cormòns. Today his descendants have transformed the small inherited property into a real farm where tradition, technology and innovation combine. The company is located in an evocative area, on the border with Slovenia, in the Pradis countryside, where the vineyards seem to be painted on the hills: regular and sinuous, following the curves of the slight slopes of a soil called Ponca, composed of layers of marl and sandstone, which infuses wines with great structure and flavour and where the particular micro-climate helps the production of high-quality whites. All the work stages, from vineyard to bottle, are personally carried out by family members. Visitors can sample the resulting wine quality during tastings at the winery. In the cosy and quiet wood-furnished visitors room, heated by a traditional fogolar (fireplace), there's a window overlooking the vineyards that offers a view of stirring magnificence.
