Palazzo della Torre / Palazzo del Monte di Pietà
The Palazzo della Torre, originally known as the Palazzo del Monte di Pietà (Pawnshop), was commissioned by the first archbishop of Gorizia Carlo Michele d'Attems (1753).
At the end of the eighteenth century it took the name of "Cassa d'imprestanza per azioni"; the institute closed in 1829 and was opened again by Count Giuseppe Della Torre two years later.
After several renovation works, in 2003 architects Grusovin and Picotti were appointed to turn the Palazzo della Torre into a museum, conference room and library.
Today, the palace houses the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Gorizia.
