Treppo Ligosullo

Until the First World War, the village was known for the "foralàris", turpentine workers, whose job consisted in drilling the larch stems and collecting the resin in large tubs that were carried on the back. The resin was filtered and the turpentine obtained, was sent in large drums to the wholesalers to sell it. Thanks to their incomes the turpentine workers could help their country of origin, beautifying the houses, and therefore you can admire particularly beautiful and impressive residences. The “De Cillia” Modern Art Gallery, in the center of the village, has to be seen and hosts which periodically temporary exhibitions.

Treppo Ligosullo is the ideal starting point to enjoy wonderful hikes through woods and peaks, in one of the most pristine and wild areas of the Carnic Alps. Among the most beautiful and challenging hikes there are those that lead to Mount Paularo, Lake Dimon and Mount Dimon. The starting point is the charming locality of Valdajer, just above the hamlet of Ligosullo, where once was built an original castle.
