Travesio

The first document in which Travesio is mentioned dates back to 1174. The name probably derives from the Latin term "intra vias", a clear reference to the Roman road, located in several points, which came from Sacile and crossed the Tagliamento at Ragogna, finally reaching Gemona.

Among the most charming sights, we would like to mention the "Puntic" and the hill of San Giorgio.

The "Puntic" is a small bridge, made up of stone blocks and bricks, which crosses the Cosa stream in the locality of Molevana and is considered Travesio's oldest bridge.

Near the main square of the chief town you will find the hill of San Giorgio, on the top of which a small Alpine church stands; it preserves the memory of the fallen soldiers from Travesio.
