Remanzacco
The toponym "Remanzacco" is of Celtic origin and we may suppose that in an ancient age the area was inhabited by peoples belonging to this ethnic group.
The first documented information about the town dates back to the year 1000; ancient documents testify that in 1321 Remanzacco became famous due to a controversy between the Municipality and some local Lords, which continued for about twenty years.
In 1509 the town staged the fights between the Austrian troops and the army of the Venetian General Superintendent; the battle ended with the defeat of the Venetians and left an indelible mark on the town's history.
Some of today's hamlets of the municipality were annexed to Remanzacco in 1811 after the division of the district of Passariano imposed by Napoleon, whereas Cerneglons was included in the municipality only in 1818.
Remanzacco was annexed to the Reign of Italy in 1866.
In Orzano, a hamlet of Remanzacco, you can visit the Gino Tonutti Museum, which features four interesting sections. The section dedicated to industrial archaeology displays machinery, tools and equipment, still in working order; the section of agricultural machines presents the instruments for agricultural work and the machines that characterized the agricultural mechanization of the 1930s and 1940s. Finally, a wide section is dedicated to special and vintage cars and to motorcycles, the latter being present with about 50 models - both Italian and foreign, starting from the 1920s.
