Surrounded by dense woods and beautiful mountains, the territory of Raveo is within the Natural Park of the Carnic Hills, offering a wide range of cultural and naturalistic trails.
The historical part of the village keeps great examples of traditional architecture, such as Casa di Mian, Casa Ucel and Casa del Medili. Along an ancient trial that kept to the haymaking meadows of Valdie, Luvieis and Pani, it is to visit a Sanctuary dedicated to the Holy Mother, used as a resting-place for prayers. The Sanctuary is a devotional place for pilgrims attracted from the miraculous events occurred here.
Raveo is also famous for the eno -gastronomic aspect, such as the biscuits production, “Esse di Raveo” so called for the particular S-shape, ideal with a white wine glass or a cup of tea, and the berry picking is to produce syrups, fruit infusions and juices.
The high event to celebrate the gastronomic products of Carnia takes place here in December and is called “Sapori di Carnia”. It is a great occasion to taste biological, home-made and local wine and food products.
