Martignacco

The town of Martignacco has been inhabited since the Gallic-Celtic age, but it is in the Roman age that it became rather important as the village was crossed by a road that was the main way of communication among the rural villages belonging to Aquileia.

During the First World War the King of Italy established his headquarters in the hamlet of Torreano, occupying three neighbouring villas (Prampero, Cantarussi and Linussa).

The Parco dei Prati del Beato Bertrando in Martignacco is a park that extends over about 230 hectares that include cultivated lands, fields and small woods. It features many paths that can be followed by agricultural vehicles, by bicycle and on foot and that are provided with explanatory signs that allow to recognise and appreciate the plants and the peculiarities of the area.
