Cimolais
Cimolais, a town at 652 metres above sea level, becomes a real portal for accessing the Cimoliana Valley. The town is surrounded by a series of mountains, which create a breathtaking scenery.
The mountains of Cimolais are the most beautiful of the Friulian Dolomites and take on really bizarre shapes! The most famous is the Campanile di Val Montanaia, which soars into a 300-metre pinnacle and which was climbed for the first time in 1902.
We are in the isolated Valcellina valley, where you can admire the incredible gorge hollowed out by the Cellina stream and that for years has been protected by the Nature Reserve that bears its name.
The territory of Cimolais is comprised in the magnificent Friulian Dolomites Natural Park, a real paradise for hiking, trekking and mountaineering. In the town you will also find one of the Visitor Centres of the above-mentioned Park.
