A fun family outing ideal for children. In summer, after reaching Aquileia by bike, enjoy an exciting return by boat through the Grado lagoon.
The itinerary has no elevation changes and starts from the Grado coach station, reaching the trans-lagoon bridge that connects the Isola del Sole to the mainland. The section offers a scenic view of the Barbana Sanctuary, the barene (small islets), the casoni (typical fishermen's houses) and the Belvedere village. Along the route there are refreshment points and rest areas dedicated to cyclists. Then enters the ancient part of the Roman city of Aquileia, reaching the Roman forum.
In summer months it is possible to return to Grado by boat following the Natissa river with a journey of about 75 minutes. Boarding in Aquileia is on Via Dante. If the maritime service is not available, you can return to Grado with the BiciBus service.
