A fun family outing ideal for children. In summer, having reached Aquileia by bike, an exciting return trip by boat through the Grado lagoon awaits you.
The itinerary is free of gradients and starts from the Grado Bus Station, until it reaches the translagoon bridge connecting the Isola del Sole to the mainland. The section is accompanied by a suggestive view of the Barbana Sanctuary, the sandbanks (small islets), the casoni (typical fishermen's dwellings) and the Belvedere village. Along the route there are refreshment points and rest areas dedicated to cyclists. You then enter the ancient part of the Roman city of Aquileia, until you reach the Roman forum.
In the summer months it is possible to return to Grado by boat, which travels along the Natissa river in about 75 minutes. Embarkation at Aquileia is in Via Dante. In the absence of the boat service, it is possible to return to Grado with the BiciBus service.
