Villa Lovaria

The residence

The villa is inhabited by the Lovaria family’s descendants, who built it as early as the 17th century. Recently it has been the subject of maintenance interventions that have brought to light the fresco of the noble coat of arms included in the façade gable. The original building was built in the 17th century by the wealthy Lovaria family, who owned vast expanses of land in Pavia di Udine. In the 1800s, the villa passed to the Spanish branch of the family, and modifications were made both to the façade and inside to adapt the original building’s simple shapes to the new owners’ needs and taste. The house is a typical architectural example in which the model of the Friuli manor house is merged with that of the Patrician Venetian villa with a strong linear façade.
