Stage rich in symbols and monuments that follows in several parts the route of the old military railway, making it easily manageable even for less experienced hikers.
We are in the heart of the Karst front, immersed in a landscape that is both rocky and green, which in addition to its characteristic geomorphological and natural beauty houses, like embedded fragments, monuments, commemorative plaques, and steles that witness the passage and death of many men even in these splendid places, so different from the mountainous landscapes of the first stages. The railway along which one will proceed, designed to supply men at the front with everything they might need, is just one of these. It stands out like a scar leading the traveler once again to immerse in the reality of those times that should never be forgotten.
Štanjel, located 9 km from Komen, is one of the oldest settlements in the Karst region, interesting for its historic area and the military cemetery.

The stage starts from the Karst village of Lokvica, crossing the open-air Museum of the Pečinka Cave, follows the military road leading to Kostanjevica na Krasu passing by the IR 43 stele and the throne of Boroević as well as the remains of the Segeti military camp and many other commemorative plaques and monuments until reaching the village where it partially overlaps and follows the remains of the old Austro-Hungarian supply railway. From Kostanjevica, proceed towards Teminica and the hamlet of Lipa. From Lipa continue in the direction of Sveto, encountering several military cemeteries that witness the different national compositions within the Austro-Hungarian empire. The last stretch, about a couple of kilometers, leads to the village of Komen.
