The Riviera from Trieste to Muggia

The final stretch of the Gulf of Trieste extends from the seafront of the picturesque fishing village of Muggia to the Lazzaretto area, covering the only part of the Istrian Peninsula that belongs to Italy.

This area of the Gulf of Trieste is characterized by a coastline dotted with paved free spots, small equipped establishments, and free beaches along the seafront. Many of these beaches are close to the village of Muggia or are within walking distance. These beaches are perfect for alternating between sunbathing and a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters of the Gulf of Trieste, or a stroll through the historic center of Muggia, followed by a pleasant lunch overlooking the picturesque Porto Mandracchio.

In Muggia, Acquario 2020 has also been established: a free area equipped with kiosks, play areas, a beach volleyball court, and a skate park for sunbathing and enjoying the coast.

An unmissable experience for visitors is the climb to the hill of Muggia Vecchia, 170 meters above sea level, where a truly breathtaking panorama of the entire Gulf of Trieste can be enjoyed.
