At the northern slopes of Monte Plauris, the geological aspects of the territory have been a concrete reference for an entire community for over a century: the Rio Resartico mines were indeed one of the main sources of income for the inhabitants of Resiutta. Today, few ruins and tunnels carved into the mountain by hand remain to testify to the hard life of the miners.
Via the CAI trail no. 702, you reach the ruins of the mining village and a comfortable shelter always open at 895 m above sea level, while by climbing a few more minutes during the summer season (approximately between June and September), it is possible to visit the initial section of the mine, secured by the Park.
To experience the full historical mining era of Resiutta, it is recommended to visit:
If you follow the route in summer, a refreshing dip in the crystalline waters of the Resia or Resartico streams is recommended.
