Bosco Sacile, situated in Carlino, is one of the last remaining fragments of the great forest of oak and hornbeam trees that gradually spread across the lower Friuli plain around 3,000 years ago.
The forest is privately owned and managed by Fondazione Natura7 Ets, which was established with the aim of preserving this type of forest, including lowland forests such as those found in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
A nature trail within the forest has recently been inaugurated. Approximately 5 kilometers long, it has been designed and created with great attention to habitat protection. The trail allows visitors to gently explore environments rich in biodiversity, both from a botanical and wildlife perspective.
Thanks to guided tours led by environmental hiking guides and/or expert professionals, it is possible to visit the Sacile Forest along the new nature trail and take part in ad hoc themed tours, immersing yourself in a unique ecosystem while respecting its delicate natural balance.
Guided tours are scheduled periodically from late September to late May. To ensure the highest level of environmental protection, access is only permitted to groups accompanied by guides, with a limited number of participants per tour. This approach allows for an authentic and respectful experience, reducing the impact on the environment and preserving the tranquility of certain areas, which will remain inaccessible to protect wildlife, particularly nesting areas.
