Known as the city of water, Sacile was born and developed on the banks of the Livenza. The “Denis Zanette” route, named after the cycling champion from Sacile, runs along the Paisa stream, a tributary of the Livenza river. It is an urban route about 4 kilometers long, suitable for everyone. It is mostly cycle-pedestrian and follows existing paths. The meeting point is the parking lot on via Carducci, in front of the Forum Due Mori Social Center. The route partly follows the existing “Denis Zanette” cycle-pedestrian path and continues to the San Liberale area, then returns towards the historic center, passing through viale Trieste, via Cavour, the Ragazzoni courtyard, and Ortazza Park. The itinerary unfolds largely in a suggestive natural area and partly within the equally charming historic center. Along the urban route, you can admire the San Liberale church and the San Rocco tower, built to defend the city from the threat of Turkish invasion. Another attraction encountered is the elegant 16th-century Ragazzoni palace, belonging to a Venetian family of shipowners and merchants.
