A cross-border itinerary between the sea, olive groves and vineyards that travels from the picturesque seaside town of Muggia to Koper, the largest town in Slovenian Istria.
This cycling tour starts from the picturesque seaside town of Muggia. The ride begins with a glimpse of the marvellous crystalline blue of the Gulf and the Venetian-style atmosphere that characterises the town, with its architecture, customs, Istrian-Venetian dialect and gastronomic traditions that reveal an intense past shared with the Serenissima. After a bit of pedalling, the route becomes cross-border, crossing the Lazzaretto, with the wonderful constant of the sea to the right. The landscape then evolves through olive groves and vineyards, cycling along Ankaran to Koper. We then pass through Škofije (Scoffie) and the Rabuiese Pass to return to Italy, enjoying a variety of landscapes that change with each pedal stroke. The arrival in Muggia marks the end of the ring from which we can take the ferry to Trieste.
The Trieste-Muggia section can be cycled, but it is recommended to take the ferry to avoid city traffic, especially in summer.

Mainly flat route but with several non-demanding ups and downs in the border hills between Italy and Slovenia.
