The Stella river originates in Codroipo and flows into the Marano Lagunare Lagoon:
a route to do by bike among nature, springs and landscapes all to discover.
Route
The route partially follows the Stella river. The village of Ariis is the most interesting point of the route to appreciate the historical and naturalistic aspects of this territory. In the Ariis river park, it is possible to visit the Regional Aquarium of Freshwater Fish, the Venetian villa Ottelio Savorgnan from the seventeenth century. At Flambruzzo there is the castle, residence of the famous General Pietro Badoglio. From Rivignano the return route begins towards Latisana, which in the final part connects to the Tagliamento cycle path (FVG6).
Food & wine
The clear waters of the Stella river are used by trout breeders present in the Ariis area of Rivignano. The cycle route crosses the vineyards of the Friuli-Latisana DOC area. Along the way it is possible to stop at one of the wineries for a tasting. Recommended dish: crostini with cold-smoked trout.
The route is usable all year round but spring and autumn are the best times.
During the hottest months, ride the route early in the morning or at sunset.
