The route starts in Tolmezzo and takes place among the right valleys of the Tagliamento river. After following the cycle path leading to Villa Santina along the Tagliamento, continue on secondary roads without vehicle traffic towards Enemonzo, a place known for the cheese of the same name. After crossing the Tagliamento, you reach Preone (discover other bike routes in Preone), a place from where it is possible to start the route to discover the Arzino Waterfalls, and where the climb to Sella Chiampon (alt. 790 m) begins. The road enters the woods of the Seazza stream valley and you bike until reaching a grassy plateau with mountain houses, mountain huts, and scattered haylofts. The route continues with a slight descent passing beside the springs of the Arzino stream. Before returning to Tolmezzo, you pass through Verzegnis, where the lake of the same name is located, a turquoise interlude among the woods of the Prealps, an ideal place to relax after the tiring ride.

    Author’s recommendation

Doable with all geared bikes, but preferably with road bikes, MTB, or e-bikes.
