Multi-day route
The cycle path runs along the Tagliamento river, which is called the king of European Alpine rivers due to the naturalness and morphology of its watercourse.
The Tagliamento river has become an increasingly popular destination for many wilderness lovers and water sports enthusiasts. Along its banks and in the adjacent territories, a cycle tourism route has been arranged that allows visiting places, villages, habitats, and everything related to the river. Starting from Tolmezzo, the main town of Carnia, you cycle next to the walls of the village of Venzone and then reach Spilimbergo, the city of mosaics, the village of San Vito al Tagliamento, and end at the mouth of the Tagliamento river in the seaside resort of Lignano Sabbiadoro. Along the route, you also pass through the village of Valvasone with its castle and Casarsa della Delizia, the birthplace of Pier Paolo Pasolini. The right bank features some panoramic points to admire the river: Sopra Castle in Spilimbergo and the river embankment in Latisana. At the final part of the route, you cycle on the river embankment and can see the landscape from above.

There are still a few kilometers on busy roads in the municipality of Casarsa della Delizia.
The route is hilly up to Pinzano al Tagliamento, then becomes flat to the mouth of the Tagliamento river (Lignano Sabbiadoro) with some gentle ups and downs. The route is mostly on paved roads. Dirt roads are present only in the flat section. Suitable for all bikes equipped with gears, excluding racing bikes.

Lignano Sabbiadoro: A4 Turin - Trieste exit Latisana. Follow signs to Lignano Sabbiadoro.
In Tolmezzo, large parking lots are located very close to the bus station.
