The Adriatic Sea cycle path runs from Trieste to Lignano Sabbiadoro and is the section of the Adriabike (Trieste-Venice) and EuroVelo8 in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The route is divided into stages Venice - Caorle - Lignano Sabbiadoro - Grado and Trieste. You reach Lignano after crossing the bridge over the Tagliamento river at Bevazzana. Here begins a route that touches the main seaside resorts of Friuli Venezia Giulia, crosses the Friulian plain, the protected nature reserves rich in fauna and flora of the lagoon until reaching the Karst. You pedal among the fishing villages of Marano Lagunare, Grado and Duino. From Cervignano del Friuli you take the Alpe Adria cycle path which crosses the UNESCO site of Aquileia. At Sistiana you can see the Duino Cliffs and reach Trieste accompanied by a splendid view of its Gulf. In summer Bibione and Lignano are connected by the ferry on the Tagliamento river while the seaside resorts of Lignano, Marano Lagunare, Grado, Monfalcone, Sistiana, Grignano and Trieste are connected with bike-boat services. The route takes place on sections of cycle path and mixed-use roads. Pay particular attention in the presence of traffic on the Coastal Road (SR14) and on other mixed-use roads.
Spring and summer 2024: ongoing works at the Sistiana overpass. Detour required. For the detour follow the GPX track on the FVG 2/b Karst Variant sheet (C2V2)
During the summer in the areas of Lignano, Grado, Monfalcone, Sistiana and along the coastal road to Trieste there is heavy traffic of bathers heading to the beaches. For those who wish there are bike+boat services.

Venice Marco Polo Airport and then by bike to Jesolo (mixed-use road with traffic for the first 10 km and then mixed cycle path)
Venice-Mestre railway station take the Venice-Trieste line and get off at San Donà di Piave. From here reach the AdriaBike by cycling along the Venice-Munich cycle path.

In Trieste the Mi.Co.Tra service is active which allows you to reach Villach (reservation required) and pedal along the FVG1.
