The route is divided into stages Venice - Caorle - Lignano Sabbiadoro - Grado and Trieste. You reach Lignano after crossing the bridge over the Tagliamento river at Bevazzana. Here begins a route that touches the main seaside resorts of Friuli Venezia Giulia, crosses the Friulian plain, the protected nature reserves rich in fauna and flora of the lagoon until reaching the Karst. You pedal among the fishing villages of Marano Lagunare, Grado and Duino. From Cervignano del Friuli you take the Alpe Adria cycle path which crosses the UNESCO site of Aquileia. At Sistiana you can see the Duino Cliffs and reach Trieste accompanied by a splendid view of its Gulf. In summer Bibione and Lignano are connected by the ferry on the Tagliamento river while the seaside resorts of Lignano, Marano Lagunare, Grado, Monfalcone, Sistiana, Grignano and Trieste are connected with bike-boat services. It is recommended to see the itinerary C2V1.
