Climb of the Giro d'Italia Arta Terme - Sappada (P014)

The 19th stage of the Giro d'Italia 2024 will start on May 24 from Mortegliano to Sappada.
Mortegliano, south of Udine, boasts the tallest bell tower in Italy (113 m) built between 1955 and 1959 by the Udine architect Pietro Zanini. Together with the Duomo, it is the symbol of the city and an important visual reference for the surrounding plain. The stage passes through San Daniele del Friuli, Peonis, Tolmezzo, and Arta Terme. It continues with some ups and downs to Paularo, Rigolato, and Forni Avoltri, crossing Passo Duron at 1076 meters above sea level.
The highest point is Cima Sappada, at the foot of Monte Siera, at 1290 m altitude and from which you finally reach Sappada, a renowned mountain resort framed by the Dolomites and located northwest of Friuli Venezia Giulia, at the border with Veneto.
