The Cavasso Nuovo red onion, a slow food presidium, is cultivated in this area and is a delicacy with a sweet and crunchy heart. Also excellent raw, it is a delicious companion for cured meats and cheeses. The Cavasso red onion is harvested in August and is preserved in plaits all year round. Itinerary
Starting from Maniago, we venture into the suggestive gorge of the Colvera torrent, amid overhanging walls and the roaring torrent. The route then winds through the villages of Poffabro and Frisanco, jewels of mountain architecture. The ride continues towards the picturesque rural village of Navarons, crossing the Meduna river and following the Pedemontana (FVG3) cycle route, reaching Toppo and its stone houses, before returning towards Maniago.
The route is suitable for families with children aged 10 years and older.

Circular route; various ups and downs on an asphalt road open to vehicular traffic, not particularly busy. One third of the route is on a cycle path or road closed to motor vehicles.
Maniago can be reached daily by train+bike on the Sacile/Maniago line.
A28 motorway - exit at Cimpello. At the roundabout, continue in a northerly direction towards Sequals. Follow the road with two lanes in each direction until you reach the junction with the SR 177 motorway, keeping in the direction of Sequals. Follow the entire SR 177 until the roundabout at the junction with SR 464, near the above-mentioned town. Continue in the direction of Maniago, always keeping on the regional road. Arriving in Maniago, cross the bridge over the Colvera river and keep straight on along Via Unità d'Italia slightly uphill. At the end of the climb on the left is Via Stazione: turn off and continue briefly to the railway station.
