The presbytery of
Gemona del Friuli dating back to 1360 today holds the new
Parish Museum as well as the Cathedral Treasury and the historical parish Archive where the oldest known baptism records (dating back to 1379) are kept.
There is also a collection of paintings and sculptures by local artists (dating from the 13th to the 19th centuries) as well as religious furnishings, from the churches of Gemona destroyed in the earthquake. An important section is dedicated to the
13th-14th century codex by the Bologna and Padua school, which are richly decorated with splendid miniatures, liturgical books and musical codex.
The Cathedral Treasury includes some of the most beautiful
Friulian goldsmith work from the 15th century, as well as modern sacred gold work and a precious collection of liturgical vestments, embroideries and lace.
