The geological path of Villanova delle Grotte promises both a comfortable route for families and a series of geological thrills for enthusiasts! In about 5 km of path through the woods, you can see sinkholes, karst swallow holes, contact caves, and many other features. At the start (in front of the Terminal Grotte restaurant), two informational boards about the geological specifics of the area are located. The route is ideally completed by a visit to the New Cave of Villanova, a show cave accessible with a guided experience (info and departure always in front of Terminal Grotte). Main points of interest: old entrance of the New Cave in Borgo Zajama, Doviza cave, Rio Tanaloho, Vigant Abyss, ancient stone washhouse at Vigant, sinkhole "Spider's Cave", Feruglio Cave.

    Author’s recommendation

The short detour to Borgo Vigant is absolutely worthwhile to overlook the splendid balcony on the Val Cornappo
