The beautiful valley of the Venzonassa stream extends for about 9 kilometers, starting from the Musi saddle and reaching the town of Venzone. Surrounded by the southern slopes of monte Plauris and the northern slopes of the monti Chiampon and Ledis, it features a varied landscape shaped by fluvio-glacial erosion. Here, the valley floor forms a deep gorge with enchanting colors, while higher up you can see the remains of ancient settlements. The vegetation is rich, with clumps of hop hornbeam, hornbeam, and admirable beech woods. The fauna is equally abundant, including roe deer, wild boar, hares, marmots, squirrels, foxes, and mustelids. A visit should definitely be dedicated along the route to the wonderful church of Sant'Antonio, a privileged and panoramic viewpoint over the whole valley.
Author’s recommendation
Hike not suitable for people with vertigo; in this case, it is advisable to return to Venzone via the paved road, avoiding the path section over the gorge.

Safety information
Do not undertake this hike in uncertain weather conditions or on icy ground (the part near the gorge of the Venzonassa stream is exposed and the steep terrain can become very slippery when wet).
There are no water sources along the loop; on particularly hot days, consider carrying an adequate supply of water, and it is not recommended to hike during summer days due to the low altitude and heat.
