    The Percorso Fuori also allows less fit people to immerse themselves in these border territories a few steps from Slovenia.

    The departure is set at the Pian dei Ciclamini hiking refuge from where you immerse yourself in the beech and fir forests of Alta Val Torre. The comfortable wide path leads towards Passo Tanamea, an important strategic and fortified place during the Cold War when this area was part of the Iron Curtain.

    The theme of the border is addressed by a series of informational panels distributed along the route, alongside those dedicated to biodiversity. In these territories live numerous animal and plant species which, if lucky, can be encountered during the hike: beautiful orchids, shy roe deer, and great vultures soaring the skies.

    The Percorso Fuori is an excellent choice for those who want to take a walk outdoors with their family.

    Author’s recommendation

    To complete the visit, it is recommended to enjoy some typical dishes at the valley’s local establishments.

    There are two best periods to appreciate this path:

    • At early summer, to enjoy the colorful flowering meadows;
    • In autumn, to enjoy the beech foliage.
