Starting from Rifugio Pelizzo, a spectacular route on easy trails that takes us to the summit of one of the most panoramic peaks in Friuli, Monte Matajur! Along the way you can admire the pastures frequented in summer by the Plezzana sheep, the ancient planine (mountain huts) where the villagers used to spend the summer grazing, fantastic examples of surface karst and in season magnificent alpine blooms. At the summit there is a small chapel, while before returning to Pelizzo you also pass Dom Na Matajure, a refuge managed by a volunteer association of the Natisone Valleys.
