An easy circular route to a panoramic summit among the first heights of the Julian Prealps developed around Monte Faeit, passing through chestnut woods and scenic viewpoints.
This easy hike starting from the heart of Artegna allows you to admire the Friulian moraine amphitheater and the slopes of the Julian Prealps by walking on some old paved paths, evidence of the ancient relationship between man and the environment.
Step by step you cross lush natural environments, such as the chestnut groves on the northern side and at the summit ridge it is possible to find some works related to the Great War. In the early 1900s, artillery positions were set on Faeit and nearby Campeon as part of the Middle Tagliamento Fortress, a defensive system planned by the Italian army.
Along the way, you can also see the beautiful washing place of Borgo Monte, used in the past for washing clothes, and a stunning view of Rovistagno castle, overlooking the small valley of the Orvenco stream.
