The hike starts from the hamlet of Zomeais in Tarcento immediately following the ascent signs of the Crosis waterfalls loop. A steep climb on a mule track leads to cross the paved road which, if followed for a stretch, leads to the small village of Malemaseria. From the small settlement, the trail climbs through woods and clearings to the edge of a ravine of a modest stream, again gaining the paved road near the village of Michs. The route then turns decidedly southeast gaining the shoulder of Monte Stella, summit reached after a bench intersection with a beautiful view (worth the stop!) and the metal cross.

Beginning the descent you soon reach a wide meadow marking the summit of Monte Oussa, with memories of events that happened during the Great War. Continue along a forest track passing the hamlet of Boreanis and then, through the Way of the Cross of the Stella church, return to Malamaseria and then downhill

    Safety information

A variant of the "Crosis waterfalls trail" is unusable although the wooden signs are still in place. It is advisable to do only the first part of this trail up to the wooden railing that closes the path before a landslide ravine. Do not be tempted to continue because, although the trail is clear, you would proceed on unstable slopes, overgrown with vegetation, with numerous fallen trees on the ground.
