Challenging hike on wild terrain traveled by paths and tracks that require skills in identification and assessment, as well as adequate hiking and mountaineering experience. Monte Chiarescons overlooks the Poschiadea, Settimana valleys and the Canal Grande di Meduna, offering spectacular views of the massifs of the Pramaggiore and Cornagèt mountains.

From the village of Forni di Sotto, go down to the hamlet of Vico and then, following the signs for Val Poschiadea, reach the Ford on the Tagliamento.

After crossing the Tagliamento, follow the dirt road (sign for Forcella Lareseit) that rises to the area of Covardins, and from here the next path that shortly reaches the area of Stue (dam), where it is possible to observe, downstream, the Gorge of the Poschiadea Torrent.

Once the torrent is crossed upstream of the dam, the path continues to the area of Rubarai, near the confluence of the Chiarescons and Canal dell’Orso torrents. A fork indicates to the left the direction to Monte Chiarescons (going straight and right would follow the path that climbs to Forcella Lareseit). From here the marked path is decidedly steeper and wilder. Two crossings of the torrent (last water source) require particular attention. The route then continues in a little frequented and wild environment, reaching the view of the stunning north walls of Monte Chiarescons, then following, by trail traces, the entire characteristic valley leading to the panoramic Col della Valle pass. From the pass, climb right over steep meadows to a small rock wall of a couple of meters presenting moderate mountaineering difficulties; after overcoming this rough spot, climb a gravel gully that leads to a first summit. Continuing along the ridge and descending a couple of meters on the south side, the summit is reached.
