Challenging route with significant elevation changes, technical sections both uphill and downhill, but featuring extremely scenic landscapes.
Leaving the car at the Val di Giaf parking lot (1010m), continue until just before the refuge with the same name where the CAI 342 trail starts, climbing up to Forcella del Cason (2250m): from the refuge onwards, the trail is always challenging, becoming steep with rocky sections where hands are needed to proceed (for experts). After the pass, you enter the beautiful and rugged Valle Monfalcon di Forni and reach the bivacco Marchi-Granzotto (2152m). The bivouac is located on a wide panoramic terrace from which the view stretches from the Monfalconi di Forni chain to the Cresta del Leone, while in the distance stands the Pramaggiore and Fantuline group. Leaving the bivouac, head west following the CAI 354 trail to Forcella da Las Busas, where the descent begins along a steep expert trail over stones and scree (always follow the path and pay attention to the right turn that crosses into the parallel valley). The trail first crosses the Anello di Bianchi and then leads directly back to Rifugio Giaf.
