The first trail of its kind in FVG, the Sentiero dei Forestali recovers ancient communication routes on the side of Val Silisia that overlooks Lake Cà Selva, to reach two shelters.
From Panuch (651 m, parking) begins the Sentiero dei Forestali: the first educational route of this kind in Friuli Venezia Giulia, created by the Forestry Corps by recovering segments of the very dense network of trails and paths that once animated this now abandoned side.
From Panuch you first reach the ruins of Casera Ropa (979 m a.s.l.), first following the comfortable forest road in the woods, then the path, then another overgrown forest road; the path is always well marked (signposts, CAI markers, and Forestry markers). From here the 400 meters ascent is tackled to Casera Salincheit (1356 m a.s.l.), a beautiful shelter that maintains its traditional character.
In about twenty minutes we reach Casera Valine Alta (1344 m a.s.l.) following a connecting track, also a recently renovated shelter.
We take the service forest road to the shelter and follow the Sentiero signs up to elevation 900 m, where we reconnect with the initial section.
