The circular route can be started from several points: the presented itinerary starts from the Monte Festa-San Simeone junction.
Continue left towards Monte Festa, taking the paved road surrounded by forest. Along the path, the hiker is guided by several explanatory signs detailing the presence of typical butterfly species in the area.
At the junction continue left onto CAI 838 towards Interneppo, entering the forest and continuing downhill. From here the view extends over the surrounding hills towards the Lago dei Tre Comuni and the nearby Pieve di Cesclans.
Then descend left and reach the village of Interneppo. From the public fountain continue left (signpost Butterfly Trail) and after approximately 200m take via Colle della Croce. At the junction ascend left and reach SP36. Cross the road to find the sign and the path climbs and reconnects with the parking lot at the junction (starting point).
