Challenging route that follows the Bregoline trekking route in the heart of the Friulian Dolomites from Cimolais to Claut.

From the Pian Meluzzo area (near the Pordenone Refuge, reachable from the village of Cimolais along the Val Cimoliana road) the route begins by entering the wide and gravelly valley of the Sciol de Mont. The path climbs the scree slopes of the valley until it turns right (crossing a stream with water) and enters the characteristic forest of fir and larch trees of Roncada, frequented by the capercaillie.

With a short and worthwhile detour (signposted) you can reach the pasture of the homonymous hut (wooden shelter, open) and continue to reach the Forcella della Lama, an exceptional scenic observation point (Dolomitic panorama towards the Spalti di Toro and the Monfalconi) and wildlife observation (a window onto the meadow animated by the presence of marmots and chamois). After passing a plateau (Pian de la Casera Vecia) and a final pass (Forcella Savalóns), where it is possible to observe the late summer blooming of the endemic Froelich gentian, the path quickly descends to the Casera Bregolina Grande (open shelter).

The route continues descending the wide pasture and the underlying fir forest until reaching and crossing a stream (Sciol de la Stua). The path, now immersed in the beech forest, crossing other streams, reaches the valley floor meadow-pasture (Pian Palaz) then climbs the opposite slope up to the pastures and the Casera Bregolina Piccola (open shelter).

A final climb leads to the above Forcella del Dof and then decisively descends along the opposite slope in a forest rich in fir and larch trees until exiting to the pasture of Casera Col d’Aniei (spartan shelter, open). From here the path enters the valley of the Rio Cerosolin, characterized by a deep gorge, crossing moderately inclined steep slopes on a rocky trail aided by wooden and stone passages until reaching the Val Settimana (Ponte del Ciarter area, parking; from here it is possible to reach Claut along the Val Settimana road).
