Arrival in FRIULI
Arrival in SAN DANIELE del FRIULI with your own car.

2nd day
SAN DANIELE DEL FRIULI AND VILLALTA
In the morning we recommend a visit to San Daniele del Friuli, a small treasure trove of art on the hills of Friuli. Walk in the historic center with the castle, the prestigious Guarneriana Library (visit by appointment only), the church of Sant’Antonio with a splendid cycle of frescoes from the sixteenth century.
At the end of a visit to a Prosciuttificio with lunch tasting of the famous ham of San Daniele from the gentle taste, recognized since 1996 as a product PDO (Protected designation of origin)
In the afternoon you reach the Castle of Villalta one of the most important and best preserved of Friuli, still inhabited by the family of Caporiacco. Visit of the manor (by reservation, subject to availability) with the double walls, the guard walkways, the drawbridge, the interior with the kitchen in rustic friulano, the noble floor with the hall of the Patriarchs, the Imperial rooms, all finely furnished. At the end, visit and tasting at the nearby winery Poggio di Villalta in Fagagna. An almost magical landscape with the entrance almost hidden, the dirt road that passes over the Rio Volpe, reaches the large meadow, the park and the vineyards that welcome visitors. Visit to the vineyards, the cellar, the barricaia where a few selected wines mature including the selection of white wines Vulpes.
Return to the farm through FAGAGNA with the beautiful Oasis of Quadris, with ibis and storks, and climb to the Castle of Fagagna from which you can enjoy an priceless panorama from the mountains to the sea.

SPILIMBERGO AND VALVASONE
In the morning departure for the vast plain of the Magredi following the course of the Tagliamento. Arrival in SPILIMBERGO, and guided tour of the prestigious School Mosaicisti del Friuli, which collects more than 800 works by students and masters mosaicists. We recommend a walk in the historic center with the Cathedral Square and the Castle.
You then pass the Tagliamento river park to reach the village of VALVASONE-ARZENE, located in the center of an area producing Friuli Grave wines that boasts an ancient and rich history with its origins dating back at least to the Roman era. Visit of a winery and tasting

UDINE, Tiepolo city
Departure for UDINE, a beautiful and welcoming city, guided tour of the Palace of the Patriarch of the Galleries of Tiepolo who lived here and reached his artistic maturity. We recommend a walk in the historic center: the Castle, Piazza Liberà, the “most beautiful square on the mainland”, the Cathedral, Piazza Matteotti, the shopping street Mercatovecchio, Piazza San Giacomo where udinese love to treat themselves to an aperitif with a glass of wine (tajut in Friulian).

VENZONE and natural reserve of CORNINO LAKE
Departure for VENZONE, elected in 2017 the most important village of Italy, for a free visit to the historic centre, which was carefully restored after the 1976 earthquake.
Lunch in restaurant at VENZONE
In the afternoon guided tour of the LAKE CORNINO Natural Reserve with emerald waters, with entrance to the visit center where is carried out for twenty years the project of conservation of vulture.
