Archaeological Area of Zuglio

Zuglio was identified as the Roman town of Iulium Carnicum already in the 15th century. You can admire the remains of the buildings that made up the ancient Roman town of Iulium Carnicum: the civil basilica (first imperial age), the base of the covered portico with columns with Tuscan capitals, a sector of the paved stalls with some statue bases, the podium of the Temple, the cryptoporticus (underground passageway) of the basilica with the staircase to access the first floor.

Opening times
The archaeological area of the Roman forum is open by reservation for groups and school parties, only for guding tours organized by the Museum. Please contact the "Iulium Carnicum" Town Archaeological Museum.
