On days of thermal inversion, lower Friuli is covered by clouds, but you can admire an incredible spectacle commonly called the “sea of clouds” in the mountains. It so happens that the ascent to a peak can take on a spectacular spatial view. A large white sea creeps into the valleys leaving out only the highest peaks illuminated by the sun.
By consulting the weather forecast service, it is possible to determine in advance if this natural phenomenon will form and the altitude of the clouds. It is thus possible to safely plan an excursion at a high altitude to enjoy this view.
I live in Forni di Sopra, among the Dolomites of Friuli. I love photography and all mountain sports. Through photos and videos, which I take and edit myself, I try to show the beauty of the Upper Tagliamento Valley and the Dolomites of Friuli in all seasons.
