Trieste Estate 2026 - Goodbye Berlin

Description

Kurt Weill: his music, like his personal story, surprisingly encapsulates the most significant cultural and historical events of the first half of the 20th century. A composer of traditional culture and studies, he encountered the artistic avant-garde in the 1920s, and inspired by the intersection of theater and music, he created works whose influence endures to this day. We imagined that the two protagonists of this "chamber musical" met in Berlin in 1933 and, like the composer whose unforgettable melodies they perform, were forced to leave for the United States. A story that is at times dramatic and at times humorous, told through the dialogues of the two characters but above all through Weill's songs and arias. A show that combines music and theater. With Marzia Postogna and Leonardo Zannier.
