On 11, 12, 18 and 19 July 2026, the picturesque village of Sauris di Sotto will once again host one of the most anticipated summer events in Friuli Venezia Giulia: the Sauris Ham Festival, celebrating the renowned Sauris PGI Ham and the authentic charm of one of the region's most fascinating mountain villages.
Over two consecutive weekends, Sauris becomes a lively meeting place where exceptional food, music, local traditions and warm hospitality come together, welcoming visitors from across Italy and abroad.
The undisputed star of the festival is, of course, Sauris PGI Ham, the result of a centuries-old production tradition and a unique mountain microclimate. Freshly sliced and served with the finest local cheeses, regional delicacies and the famous Zahre Beer, Sauris' historic unfiltered beer, it offers an authentic taste of the region.
Visitors can also enjoy guided tours of the local ham producers and the Zahre Beer brewery in Sauris di Sopra, discovering the craftsmanship and traditions that have been passed down through generations.
From 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, the heart of Sauris di Sotto will also host a vibrant market featuring local artisans, regional food producers and handcrafted creations, surrounded by the scents and flavours of the Carnic Alps.
As the sun goes down, the celebrations continue with live music, DJ sets and entertainment, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the village.
The Sauris Ham Festival is much more than a food event: it is an invitation to discover the culture, traditions and breathtaking natural beauty of an authentic Alpine destination, where time slows down and every flavour tells a story.
