Pigments and parables of the title of Tea Jurišić's solo exhibition unfold through a series of watercolour and ink illustrations, enhanced by a mural and an illustrative video, which, with the help of textual quotations from the novel, flesh out the Joycian narrative. The first part of the series is painted in a lighter tone, reflecting the nocturnal wanderings of Bloom and Dedalus and the lively narration of the sailor Murphy. As the chapter progresses, the illustrations become increasingly introspective, reflecting the psychological fragmentation of the characters and the misty darkness that hangs over them.
Tea Jurišić is a Croatian visual artist working in the field of illustration and mural painting. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts, now best known for her large-scale murals that adorn walls throughout Europe, Jurišić has developed her artistic voice, gradually evolving a highly recognisable style of storytelling, symbolism and metaphor.
The exhibition will be open from 14 June to 15 September 2025. Admission free
