Description
A group of young artists from the Trieste border area has created a varied collection of artworks on the theme of mental health. The exhibition was first presented in November 2024 at the Prosvetni dom SKD Tabor in Opicina, during awareness week, when Elena Cerkvenič's book Sono schizofrenica e amo la mia follia (I am schizophrenic and I love my madness) was also presented.
The exhibition is organised by Zveza slovenskih kulturnih društev ETS and is part of the Slofest festival, co-organised with the Municipality of Trieste.
The authors, who were already protagonists of the Identità exhibition in September 2023, this time tackled another complex and increasingly topical issue: mental distress. The works are distinguished by their use of colour, contrasts and diversity of styles and techniques. The exhibition opens up multiple reflections on mental health and invites dialogue and awareness.
The vernissage will be held in the Arturo Fittke room (Piazza Piccola 3 in Trieste) on Friday 5 September 2025 at 6 p.m. and will be attended by the artists. The musical accompaniment will be provided by percussionist Daniel Ciacchi.
Admission to the exhibition is free and opening hours are as follows: Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00. During Slofest (Thursday 18, Friday 19 and Saturday 20 September 2025), the exhibition will be open from 10:00 to 20:00.
