In Friuli it's time for tastings, and all you have to do is choose a town where food and wine are the perfect accompaniment for the magical scenery. I am in Cividale del Friuli, a town rich in history; the best thing to do is lose yourself among the streets and discover stunning views.

At the Monastery of Santa Maria in Valle, the exterior locations are the ideal setting to learn more about Friuli's food and wine culture. I get lost between the porch and the cloister and I am enveloped by scents.

What do I need? I need a glass of wine and a smile to begin my tasting evening, with typical local dishes and wines to match their flavours

and the gentle music of a piano as a soundtrack...
