Cycling route between Udine and Palmanova, an area chosen by the Friulian nobility already in the seventeenth century to build villas that became summer residences.
The loop route starts in Santa Maria la Longa from the municipal office: here you can see the artworks recalling the stay of the poet Ungaretti and the revolt of the Catanzaro brigade during the First World War. During this route, you cross on your bicycle small rural villages with seventeenth and eighteenth century villas used by the Udine nobility as summer residences. Among the villas, the Agricola Strassoldo del Torso villa and the Caimo Mauroner villa in Tissano should be remembered, while in Clauiano there is the Manin Guerresco villa with frescoes by Tiepolo. Clauiano, named one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, where you can breathe the atmosphere of a typical Friulian rural village, is the last stop of the route before returning to Santa Maria la Longa, the finishing point of the loop.
